Team Kellogg’s athletes shine at the World Swimming Championships in Manchester!

It was a great few days for Lizzie Simmonds, Fran Halsall and Hannah Miley all of whom have been sponsored by Kellogg’s for two years. Together the Team Kellogg’s trio won 7 medals!

Lizzie (18) won a Silver medal in the 200m backstroke beating the old world record and coming second to Kirsty Coventry. Lizzie said:

Team Kellogg's Logo

I know that I speak for all of the athletes in the Team Kellogg’s Programme in saying a huge “THANK YOU” for the help and support that Kellogg’s give to us. It’s great to have a source of funding that can be specifically targeted to help us with key activities like education and training costs.

Now it’s back to the hard graft of getting some really good training under our belts, so that we’re in peak condition for the Olympics in August. I, for one, will be pleased to get back to the full range of Kellogg’s cereals whether I’m at home, or in Loughborough – my favourite at the moment is Kellogg's Crunchy Nut Cornflakes with a few slices of banana.

I can’t promise medals from Beijing, but I’ll do my best to get into a final, and wave to you all from the poolside!”

Meanwhile Hannah Miley (19) from Scotland won Silver in the 400m Individual Medley, also coming second to Kirsty Coventry. Hannah who eats Kellogg’s Just Right and Kellogg’s Special K Bars also broke the previous world record but finished second. Hannah also got a bronze medal in the 200m Individual Medley.

Fran Halsall had a fantastic week – and celebrated her 18th Birthday! She won a total of 4 medals – 3 bronze and one Silver in the 100m Freestyle. Recently Fran has been enjoying Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Clusters and Kellogg’s Special K Bars. Hannah took part in the Kellogg’s employees family Fun swim day in 2007.
